First of all HUGE shoutout to Deekster Caddy for explaining to me how to get the mirrors off.
These mirrors were the biggest eyesore of the whole truck IMO. Half the paint was chipped off of them and it was starting to rust. I’m so glad I was finally able to get them off to repaint them
Sanded, masked and ready for paint
After first coat of Gloss Black Rustoleum Paint
After first coat of Gloss Black Rustoleum Paint on the other side.
Second coat
Second coat
After this I let it sit overnight to cure completely. After work I came home excited to put them on.

Super pleased with the results. Next thing is painting the wheels then it should be really presentable.

Oh man now I imagine all the chrome blacked out with a gunmetal paint job. That would be one badass muscle truck.

Rustolium makes a good paint for the price.
Did Chevy ever race that kind of truck?

That’s a good idea! I have lots of stuff to do before I worry about that tho. I need to put on a set of headers to get rid of all the exhaust emissions bullshit and rebuild the carb.
But keep your eyes peeled I will be doing lots to this truck as the time and finances allow it. But headers is next for sure.

Especially since I get it for cost thru my work. $5.36/can CAD.
I don’t think Chevy has any known race trucks except for Nascar.

Do the same to the truck boxes and any other chrome on there!

Paint it up like a tank or old warplane, or you know, a Fairchild Republic A-10 Warthog. I’m fairly jealous though, I want an old truck, and there is an old dodge single cab shortbed with a 440 and cutouts in my parents town for a really good price right now
